Mohamed Al Hashemi is the Country Head of Majid Al Futtaim Ventures in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and leads a team of over 1,000 employees across Majid Al Futtaim Leisure, Entertainment and Cinemas and Majid Al Futtaim Fashion.
In his role as Country Head, Mohamed has introduced VOX Cinemas to Saudi Arabia and helped shape the entertainment industry. He has focused his efforts on Customer Experience and Operational Excellence, achieving market leadership as well as the highest Net Promoter Score across all Saudi cinemas.
Before being appointed Country Head in 2018, Mohamed was heading the expansion, business development and marketing of MAF Healthcare, the healthcare arm of Majid Al Futtaim, as well as Head of Treasury, in Majid Al Futtaim Carrefour GCC.
Prior to joining Majid Al Futtaim, Mohamed was a Corporate Banker at Emirates Islamic Bank.
Mohamed received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an Executive MBA in Strategic Management from the prestigious Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates.
Anthony Abouzeid, Senior Interior Architect, Chapman Taylor
Anthony joined Chapman Taylor in 2017 as Senior Interior Architect. He has a BA and MA in Interior Architecture, and is based in our Dubai studio. Anthony specializes in cinema design and residential projects. Anthony has also designed and delivered numerous private high end residential, F&B, commercial and office projects in Lebanon. Recently, he has been focused on cinemas, and has delivered the largest VOX Cinema in Lebanon and the largest cinema in UAE with the new state of the art REEL Cinema at Dubai Mall.
Fahmi Farouk Farahat, Film Producer and Director, ProStratus Productions, California
Fahmi is a Saudi-German Producer and director who started his career in 2005 in Los Angeles while graduating from California State University, Fullerton with a degree in Radio, TV & Film. While in the States, Farahat gained experience in different workflows including 16 and 35mm. Fahmi has prodcued and directed multiple award winning short films and was involved in four independent feature films, including AmericanEast starring Tony Shalhoub and Three Veils, an award winning film about Muslim women dealing with sexuality, tradition, and identity. In 2010 Fahmi relocated to Saudi Arabia becoming a critical part of the Arab cinema movement. He produced and directed numerous award winning controversial films, including Almoasa, a micro budget feature film that received critical acclaim for its edgy depiction of gender segregation in the workplace. In 2018, Farahat directed a controversial award winning film entitled Rules of the Game. In 2020, Farahat led a massive team of local artists and actors and produced Yajuj: Curse of Iram a a local "zombie flick" and the first ever Live interactive film streaming via Instagram for the world to watch from seven different perspectives giving a new outlook to immersive media.

Jason Hird is the Senior Technical Development Manager at Saint-Gobain Gyproc, a company that manufacturers and supplies lightweight plasterboard based building solutions. Chris, L&E Fit Out Director at JLL Project & Development Services MENA, has lead and played a pivotal role, in the delivery of multiple Leisure and Entertainment accounts for developers in the region. His project delivery experience covers the UAE, Egypt and KSA, with a more recent and prominent focus on delivery in Riyadh and Jeddah. With additional detailed experience in MEP design, Chris has ensured that this knowledge is brought to the forefront of his project delivery, particularly with regards to set up of projects and negotiations with landlords on behalf of developers.
Aman has worked in the GCC for the past 5 years and worked as both Lead Design Consultant and Project Manager for a number of key Cinema Clients across the GCC. Having worked on and delivered in excess of 100 screens across 15 sites, he has gained industry experience and knowledge on successful delivery of cinemas in the region.
Aman understands the challenges faced on the design and delivery of cinema projects, to assist in overcoming a number of hurdles across the projects. This has allowed for the project delivery of keys sites within the GCC, which have proven to be successful projects.
Anthony joined Chapman Taylor in 2017 as Senior Interior Architect. He has a BA and MA in Interior Architecture, and is based in our Dubai studio. Tony has over 25 years’ experience working in consultancy designing and delivering projects in all sectors but has recently been leading the Lifestyle Sector where he has acted as Project Director for a whole host of Cinema projects across the UAE.

Jamie also sits on the UAE CIBSE committee and is chairman of Black & White’s Global Technical Committee.

Over the past 20 years, Furqan Athar has been instrumental in the financial and administrative strategic planning and management of some of the most successful shopping centers and mixed-use developments in the Middle East and Asia.
Furqan began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG before taking on management positions with Dubai-based developers Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) Shopping Centres and Al Futtaim Group Real Estate. In addition to a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Mr. Obaidullah holds a Diploma in Film Production from Vancouver Film School (Canada) and a Certificate in Film Studies from Ryerson University (Canada).
Mohammed is an award-winning producer, director, writer, and actor. Combined with his early career in mechanical engineering, Mr. Obaidullah possess an in-depth understanding of all aspects of film making. Concurrent with this, he was studying the local and regional film industry to ascertain current trends and opportunities to continue building Saudi Arabia’s presence in international cinema. In his film career in Canada, he co-founded Smart Penguin Productions in 2012, where he served as a Producer. Kamal AlNuaimi is currently the head of information and registry department at GCAM with over 18 years of experience in business development and relations management. He joined the cinema launch project in Saudi Arabia in April, 2018 and developed the assessment criteria for both cinema operating and venue development.
